We have worked with Peter for a number of years on environmental improvement projects. Peter is not only immensely knowledgeable in his field but has taken the time to understand our organisation and its people. His approach is very collaborative and his manner outstandingly cooperative; as a result he has provided us with extremely effective support in a number of areas.

Peter set up Watts Sustainability Ltd and continues to run it as his own company.

Watts Sustainability works with clients to lighten their impacts on the planet – through helping them understand what they are, engaging and listening to their staff, clients and communities and making the most of opportunities presented by working more sustainably. It has an excellent track record in working with some of the UK’s best-known companies and a variety of varied and interesting projects. Watts Sustainability previously traded as Ecoture Consulting and was set up in September 2014.

Peter developed a business unit growing it from a training only business offering one environmental course to one offering a spectrum of professional environmental training and a significant consultancy work client base. Peter developed the business plan and strategic outlook for the environmental business which constitutes one third of International Workplace’s service offering.

Consultancy services offered include ISO14001, energy and carbon management, environmental legal compliance, waste management and corporate sustainability strategy

Peter built and led a small team of environmental consultants as well as a network of external professional environmental associates.

During this period Peter worked in New Zealand and South East Asia spending the majority of the time living in Vietnam.

He worked for 1 year (between August 2010 and July 2011) for Singapore International School in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam as an English and ICT teacher

Peter worked predominantly on construction projects as a sustainability consultant. Peter was a qualified BREEAM Assessor and CIBSE Low Carbon Assessor. Projects include the new University of Worcester Campus and the major refurbishment of the National Audit Office which achieved a BREEAM Excellent.

Peter spent two years seconded in-house to Ministry of Justice as Sustainable Development and Energy Advisor working with senior staff on cross government environmental policy issues and reducing the department’s energy use, carbon footprint, waste arisings and water use.

Other projects include working on sustainable procurement for the Olympic Delivery Authority and a high level sustainability strategy for the Government’s Building Schools for the Future Programme
