“Michael provides on-going strategic communications counsel to the organisation. Over the past 18 months he has worked closely with me on our communications strategy to media and government, helping to sharpen our messaging and identify advocates and influencers. Michael understands the media and political landscape around energy, which is hugely helpful in supporting our programmes and awards. Many of our award winners are novices when it comes to communications, and Michael has delivered tailored workshops that have helped improve the way they plan PR, create strong stories about their sustainable energy innovations and talk to the likes of media, government and NGOs. Michael is very much an extension of our team, whose passion and enthusiasm for our work makes him an asset to our organisation. ”

About Michael Saxton

Michael is a highly-experienced communications and marketing practitioner with over 20 years’ experience spanning domestic and international public relations programmes, communications and campaign strategy, issues and crisis management, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, sustainability and investor relations.
I have 10+ year experience in sustainability, as a Board-Level Communications Director helping to define and articulate sustainability messages to employees, customers, media, governments and investors. As an experienced strategist and writer, I work with clients at the sharp end – board level consultation, content, stakeholder engagement, engagement programmes and reporting.
Outside of work, I have two voluntary roles. I am an elected Board Member of the British-Estonian Chamber of Commerce, enabling trade between our two nations; and a Member of the Communications Committee for Ashden, which through its awards and programmes, celebrates the work of the best in sustainable energy from around the world.
