Acre are working on a retained basis to further develop London CIV's commitment to responsible investing through the hire of a Head of Responsible Investment. In this newly created position, London CIV is seeking an experienced leader with in-depth experience of the responsible investment sector.

The remit for the position will be to work with the CIO and wider investment team to conceptualise and then deliver a range of products to clients that both meet investment requirements and fit within a broader responsible investment strategy. The Head of Responsible Investment will also be responsible for managing ESG risks, supporting LCIV client needs through appropriate product development and reporting, and oversight of stewardship needs. This key hire will be a highly visible member of the organisation, acting as leading resource and ambassador for London CIV in its commitments to responsible investing

Key Responsibilities for the Role:

  • Maintain and implement a responsible investment policy for LCIV and its shareholders, overseeing the stewardship function, and the development of ESG resources as appropriate

  • Engage with investment colleagues to improve understanding and integration of ESG factors in investment decision-making and manager selection

  • Advise on best-practice in analysing and reporting of extra-financial factors and their impact, and appropriateness of benchmarks

  • Engage with London Local Authority (LLA) officers, members and investment advisors to understand their ESG, ethical and impact needs

  • Engage with investment managers and market participants to keep abreast of market, social and environmental developments that anticipate LLA needs

  • Represent LCIV and act as lead on relevant consultations with LLA's and external bodies such as the UNPRI, GRESB etc

Applicants for this position will have an entrepreneurial, 'can do' attitude and be highly regarded across the responsible investing space. They will also be capable of delivering high quality, innovative, thinking to build relationships with both existing investment managers and strategic partners to access additional technical expertise and identify potential new managers.
