A highly regarded and long-established global asset manager has partnered with Acre to appoint a newly created Active Engagement Stewardship Manager position based in the London office.

Working across global offices with investment teams investing in a variety of strategies across various asset classes including listed equity, fixed income, multi asset, alternatives and private markets, this is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the next stage of integratating ESG and sustainable investment factors across the firm.

With solid commitment from the Executive team and having heavily invested in new technology and a proprietary data approach to enhance sustainable investing capabilities and launch new strategies, our client offers a compelling culture to best support the successful candidate.

Engaging with investee companies on ESG topics to gain insight and influence practices has played an important role in our client's commitment and identity as an active and responsible investment manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with and training investment teams on how to best apply company engagement and active ownership to their investment strategies

  • Engaging with executives of companies as part of thematic ESG commitments at firm level

  • Ownership of collaborative engagements in the wider investment industry

  • Supporting proxy voting colleagues to track the impact of engagements and voting

  • Attending client meetings, contributing to marketing material and responsibility for reporting the outcomes of active ownership

Competencies, skills and experience sought:

  • Influencing, communication and relationship building skills across a range of stakeholder groups

  • Ability to support and take a proactive approach to change management within a dynamic and fast paced business

  • Experience of engaging with companies and understanding of how sustainability and ESG factors affect company performance, from either working in industry or gained in an investment context
