The Responsible Jewellery Council is the standards setting and certification organisation for the jewellery supply chain. With more than 1,400 Member companies and growing rapidly, RJC span the entire jewellery supply chain from mining to retail. The organisation works with businesses of all sizes to instigate step change towards sustainably sourced and produced materials.



The organisation is going through an exciting period as businesses increasingly rely on the RJC to implement improvement in their supply chains, and as such, Acre is supporting the search for an Assurance Assistant Manager. In this role you will be contributing to the assurance work stream, working with the management team and reporting to the Assurance Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring a smooth auditor accreditation process, as well as assisting with the implementation of the oversight schedule and invoicing

  • Contributing to a running log of issues from audits and oversight, drawing on audit data and oversight assessments

  • Providing input to the assurance related documents

  • Setting up meetings, agendas and preparing supporting material

  • Supporting the Assurance Manager to maintain up-to-date internal procedures and systems for the assurance process, including risk management, complaints mechanism etc., whilst ensuring compliance with the ISEAL Assurance code

The successful candidate will play a key role in the supporting the RJC's commitment to industry improvement, providing a common standard for responsible business practices from mine to retail and improving ethical, social, human rights and environmental conditions.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience of assurance systems or auditing, preferably in environmental or social standard systems

  • A good level of understanding of sustainability issues, such as, business ethics, environmental impact, labour & working conditions and human rights

  • A self-motivated and independent working style, able to work collaboratively within a small and dynamic team

  • A detail oriented, methodical approach supported by a good level of understanding of sustainability issues
