Acre is working for one of Mayfair's leading investment groups on this newly created role. The firm has decided to allocate over £100m per year from its own balance sheet to build a portfolio of high impact investments aimed at solving some of humanity's greatest challenges. The fund will also enhance and evolve the current philanthropic activities of the group.

The Impact Investing Associate Director will originate, execute and complete deals as well as manage all expenses and disbursements related to the portfolio. Initially the portfolio will focus its deal sourcing activities in Eastern Africa and India. The fund will look at private equity, debt and fund based investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present high-quality investment memos with comprehensive deal due diligence, to support the Impact investing director.

  • Participate on deal teams that include sector technical experts, legal and investment colleagues to execute new investments.

  • Manage all elements of the investment process, autonomously running their own deal team with support of junior analysts as required.

  • Conduct structured feasibility analysis on investment proposals, using an appropriate range of methodologies and techniques, to ensure they are based on logical and robust assumptions, which can withstand scrutiny from the Board.

  • Proactively maintain extensive external networks with experts and opinion-formers within the international development community

  • Manage and monitor portfolio investments and facilitate interactions between investees, sector teams and the business with regards to strategic, financial and legal opportunities and issues.

  • Conduct rigorous due diligence and on-going monitoring of potential investments and partners, using agreed corporate protocols and techniques, to assess their suitability and credentials for investment.

Experience Sought:

  • Educated to post-graduate degree level, or equivalent by experience, within finance.

  • Investment and finance experience as an Investor at a top-tier venture capital, private equity or similar financial institution with experience in deal sourcing, execution and portfolio engagement.

  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable career experience.

  • Deep interest in principal investing and belief in the capacity of impact investing methodologies to drive innovative social impact.
