The firm focuses on emerging markets and on project types that seek the greatest opportunities for scale and positive impact. It is for this reason that the team is looking to bring on board an experienced and well-networked professional to lead the origination of carbon offset projects in the LATAM region.

As the Carbon Project Origination Lead, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities and developing strategic relationships for the origination of new carbon offset projects in the region, whilst collaborating with technical and legal team members to ensure the best practices in the due diligence, negotiation, and contractual agreement procedures with the relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and originate new opportunities for the development of projects in the LATAM carbon offset market

  • ​​​​​​​Map and develop new partnerships with the beneficiary communities, partners, and counterparties

  • Oversee all the technical aspects of carbon offset projects, different registries, and processes for issuance

  • Enhance connectivity among internal and external stakeholders

  • Being the main internal knowledge center for the Latam voluntary carbon markets

Key Requirements:

  • You have at least 7 years of experience in carbon development & origination and an existing network within the carbon offset market in LATAM

  • ​​​​​​​Demonstrable record of accomplishment in handling carbon projects at various stages of development, delivery, and accreditation.

  • Relevant experience and understanding of registry requirements, methodologies, and legal frameworks

  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills

  • Fluent in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese

  • Relevant post-graduate education is also advantageous
