Acre is delighted to partner with an innovative asset manager with a long-standing commitment to sustainable investment to recruit a Climate Change and Corporate Governance Manager, which is a newly created position. Our client's investment strategies incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors as a driver of value creation and innovation for performance.

The successful candidate will be focused on direct engagement with the senior management of investee companies across geographies on corporate governance, with a focus on climate change, across listed equity and fixed income funds.

Responsibilities Include:

  • To lead and structure company engagement strategies, with a focus on climate change

  • Consulting with investee companies on their remuneration policies

  • Undertaking and presenting research on key Governance topics, engagements and activity

  • Leading and undertake collaboration with other investors and stakeholders

  • Oversight of all aspects of the stewardship policy, systems and reporting to include the implementation and review of the firm's custom voting policy

  • Assisting the development and maintenance of internal and external ESG-related content for fund level ESG risk reporting and annual stewardship reporting in line with the revised Stewardship Code and TCFD reporting

  • Acting as the point of contact for internal ESG related inquiries i.e. directly from distribution partners and/or escalated questions from RFP/RFI/DDQ processes

  • Managing relationships with external vendors and industry groups to include staying on top of new data sources and tools to enhance the firm's ESG capability

Experience and Competencies Sought:

  • Knowledge of corporate governance and remuneration best practice

  • Confidence and experience of conducting meetings with senior executives of investee companies

  • Strong writing skills

  • Desirable

  • Engagement or advocacy experience across a variety of markets and ESG topics

  • Proxy voting experience

  • Climate change analysis
