Acre is working with a progressive global asset manager in searching for a Climate Finance Data Modelling Lead.
This is a senior role within the sustainability research team and can be based in either London or Geneva. This hire will be tasked with leading a team of quants and developers to use data to produce forward-looking climate metrics across portfolios and portfolio companies to inform investment decision-making and create new strategies & products.
This role will be instrumental in further enhancing the overall mathematical modelling capabilities of the team so that they can provide transparent, science-based climate transition solutions to investment teams working on both transition and impact strategies.
Responsibilities:
Synthesising investment challenges to technical specialists and then delivering data-driven insights & analytical solutions to a wide range of investment teams
The ability to lead a small team of quantitative analysts around thematic data in efforts to produce metrics that can be used to make investment decisions
Need to be able to think conceptually around the design of ESG metrics
Develop and improve the emissions modelling and estimation methodologies
Lead the evolution of climate data models that integrate other datasets such as the financial risk/return data
Development of AI/ML/NLP modules focused on climate and biodiversity scenario modelling
Background:
Experience working with large sets of data, ideally ESG related
Demonstrable experience managing and leading a team
Master's Degree or PhD in Mathematics, Financial Modelling or relevant field, strong knowledge of statistical analysis
Strong knowledge of AI / NLP techniques and models
Strong data modelling experience or knowledge
Experience applying data to an environmental, real-world context
