Compassion in World Farming believes that everyone has the right to healthy food that does not involve cruelty, does not involve suffering, and does not destroy our planet.

As the internationally leading farm welfare charity, they collaborate with some of the world's biggest food companies, all on the mission to drive towards an ethical and sustainable food supply.

Now in a phase of growth and development, they are seeking a Compliance Manager to join them on their Better Chicken project, focusing on project management, tracking, and interacting with food businesses on the progress of their engagement with food organisations.

In this role, you will be:

  • Managing the development and delivery of annual reports focused on the progress of the Chicken Track project. You will have the capacity to shape and influence where necessary, overseeing data collection, data analysis, budgets, and overall coordination.

  • Actively ensure that Compassion in World Farming is a market leader in this space, through your own market research, due diligence, and technical knowledge, which you will feed back internally and use to the advantage of the project and the charity. You will be someone who likes to know what the latest data or emerging trends are.

  • Supporting with the collation of market trend data and analysis for the annual report, working closely with the Food Business team and the Marketing and Communications team. The aim is to seamlessly deliver the messages and progress of the project in which you will have been a key part.

The purpose of this role is to help end factory farming. This role will contribute by ensuring that food companies are held accountable to the commitments they have made to improve farm animal welfare by tracking and communicating their annual progress towards compliance. Through active collaboration internally, you will be a key member in the development of the Better Chicken project.

You already have:

  • Proven project management skills in which you have overseen, developed and improved a programme involving data and stakeholder engagement.

  • A passion or motivation to be involved and lead an impactful programme at the forefront of animal welfare and change.

  • Confidence in your ability to identify issues and track processes in a sometimes complex, multi-stakeholder project.

If you feel you match some of the requirements for this opportunity but not all, you should apply. Compassion in World Farming prides itself on its diversity and inclusion, and there is no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate. If you are confident that you can add value and are motivated to join this unique sustainable organisation, apply or reach out to ruth.smith@acre.com with any inquiries.
