The CO2 removal industry is absolutely critical in fighting climate change, but the industry is experiencing major friction from governing authorities regarding the validity of the amount of CO2 captured/accredited through various processes/projects. Many companies are now trying to develop precisely verifiable solutions but are generally distant from large-scale commercialization.

Our client is the global front-runner in nature-based CO2 removal, actively deploying cutting-edge projects and, in fact, are close to signing the largest deal the industry has seen globally. With that, they are growing and are looking for someone to own the development, operation and future-proofing work for their data management system. You will build off some of the existing infrastructure already in place, but ultimately, you will serve as the lead architect and decision maker, building and deploying infrastructure that stores data from across their supply chain and agricultural projects.

Your responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for architecting, building, optimizing and deploying infrastructure while ensuring reliability, security and scalability

  • Build and ensure the scalability and resilience of data transformation, extraction, and ETL processes

  • Develop, implement and safeguard data validation and quality processes ensuring accuracy and completeness

  • Develop relationships with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders

Your qualifications:

  • B.S. (M.S. preferred) in computer science with at least 5 years of experience designing, planning, productionizing and maintaining data infrastructure in complex and increasingly scaling environments

  • Expert level in Python and geographic tools like PostGIS

  • Have a passion for climate and contributing to humanity's most pressing problems

  • Excellent communication skills and proven experience working in cross-functional environments with both technical and non-technical folks

Location: Please note this is a remote role and candidates open to relocating or based in St. Louis, MS, San Francisco, CA, NYC, Princeton, NJ, or Memphis, TN are preferred, but location is not a dealbreaker.
