BT's ambition is to create a team to help continue to define, design, and deliver their most ambitious, future-looking strategy to date - to provide digital skills, support and empowerment to individuals, led by the Digital Impact and Sustainability (DI&S) team.

Reporting to the Director of Digital Impact and Sustainability, BT Group, Andy Wales, this role has overall accountability for leading and delivering BT's consumer-facing sustainability leadership agenda.

DI&S is at the heart of defining and delivering BT's commitment as a national champion in the UK, helping solve challenges such as addressing the digital divide, and electrifying the UK transport system within 10 years. We're shaping BT's strategies on the smart home, smart workplace, and smart cities. And we're engaging and energising our colleagues, customers, investors, and expert stakeholders to deliver a sustainable future.

Accountability

  • This entails extensive Consumer Leadership Team (LT) engagement, full integration into the LT annual plan, KPIs and retail, brands, marketing, customer communications, proposition development, HR and regulatory strategies

  • Has overall accountability for the strategy and success of DI&S across Consumer

  • Oversight of all DI&S content to be delivered via multiple channels to customers, stakeholders and the broader public

  • Key decisions in defining which partnerships to engage with

  • Key decisions in defining which organisations to work with in order to deliver outsourced services

  • Regularly engage with the BT Group DI&S board committee, presenting strategy and performance. Present at ExCo. Represent BT Group externally including at Ministerial level overseeing major external strategic partnerships at the CEO level.

  • Engages across the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), procurement, digital, brand etc, to ensure the consistent support for the sustainability strategy

  • Lead critical ESG investor engagement across the range of sustainability issues. Be or become a known expert and go to thought leader on the 'E' part in the European tech and telco investor universe
