Acre is pleased to be partnering with a leading, global solar and storage company to help them identify a Director of Business Development for their new Grid Services offering. One of the fastest growing energy companies in the world, they have installed their award-winning inverters, smart batteries, and software in nearly 2 million homes and businesses across over 100 countries.

As they continue to scale, they want to help both consumers and local grids gain more value from their products. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for working with utilities, ISOs, platform aggregators, and others to develop grid services programs and ensure these products can be set up as DERs.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Utilities, co-ops, grid operators, platform aggregators, ISOs, project developers and CCAs to initiate opportunities.

  • Draft and respond to RFPs

  • Negotiate and close contracts

  • Lead GTM efforts and communicate with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders

  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure successful launch of programs, including but not limited to: product, engineering, pricing, legal, finance, and operations

  • Forecast revenue

This position will play an integral role in the growth and direction of the Grid Services business. A successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the energy sector, ideally with DERs, virtual power plants, or SaaS grid services products. Beyond that, we are looking for someone who knows how to open doors, identify new and valuable opportunities for growth, and work with various relevant stakeholders to launch new programs.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • 6-10 years of experience in Solar/Storage/Smart-device industries

  • Experience working with utilities, platform aggregators, or project planners

  • Team leadership experience

  • Experience with financial modelling
