A highly respected and impactful investment organisation has partnered with Acre to appoint a Director of Climate Change Policy to work at European level with policy makers and regulators, and also collaboratively on a global level with counterpart organisations.

This is a unique opportunity to work with an extensive range of high-profile asset managers and asset owners across Europe and play a key role in the transition to a low carbon and sustainable economy.

Priorities for the remit will be the oversight and delivery of the strategy to support COP26 in Glasgow in November 2020. At a global level, supporting the implementation of the Paris Agreement by driving greater ambition within the UNFCCC's multilateral climate negotiations.

This can be a one or two year fixed term contract with anticipation that the position can be extended beyond that as the team grows.

Responsibilities in leading the climate change policy programme include:

  • Working with investors in identifying priority policy issues at country level, EU and global levels in building consensus to develop agreed positions

  • Enabling investors' understanding of priority policy issues and the policy environment relating to climate change to support their contribution and expertise to the policy and legislation development process

  • Undertaking engagement with policymakers to ensure that the investor perspective is effectively communicated and understood
