As the BSI's Director of Group Sustainability, you will be working cross functionally with the board, senior leadership team and business streams to embed sustainability internally and influence externally. This is an exceptional opportunity for a sustainability specialist and purpose driven individual to define, develop and deliver the sustainability agenda throughout a global organisation.
You will have:
A proven track record of developing and delivering global sustainability strategies within a corporate and culturally diverse, international working environment
Trusted leadership skills with recognised ability to engage stakeholders and inspire and motivate employees at all levels to create employee ownership of sustainability
An ability to make decisions under pressure with impartiality
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken and an ability to represent BSI externally at a senior level to further the Group's sustainability agenda
An open, transparent, confident and , collaborative working style with a solution focused approach
Reporting to the General Counsel and leading a team comprising a Head of Group Sustainability, Sustainability Co-ordinator and Sustainability Analyst, you will ensure the integrity of the Groups sustainability commitment for all stakeholders, underpinned by the UN Sustainable Development Goals and furthering Purpose to inspire trust for a more resilient world by:
Identifying and delivering an integrated framework and strategy for Sustainability
Collaborating with key stakeholders contributing to the broader sustainability agenda
Leading and advising on the role BSI Standards (iso 140001 etc) will play in global sustainable development
Providing expertise, advice and direction to the Sustainability Committee, Board and Group Executive, including risks and opportunities, to develop the BSI sustainability strategy and support the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Being the key interface between senior executive stakeholders to ensure the Global Sustainability strategy is delivered and embedded throughout the business
