We're partnering with Rolls Royce in their search for an experienced Director of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to lead the preparation and execution of complex transactions across the whole transaction lifecycle. You will be key in driving the business' ambitious inorganic growth strategy forward.
A passion for industrials, combined with an existing M&A network and excellent M&A skills gained in multiple successfully executed transactions, will be key. In addition, you'll benefit from excellent communication skills to manage a broad set of stakeholders, including senior management and the board.
Your Responsibilities:
Lead preparation and execution of complex transactions, covering the whole transaction cycle (Origination and Target Screening, Valuation, Due Diligence, Negotiation, Business Plan development and preparation of PMI)
Manage continuous update of M&A radar and action-list (Long list, short list), also supported through own external M&A network
Support initial target approach and interaction, positioning RRPS as the ideal partner for growth
Oversee opportunity screening, guide and challenge project leads with expert knowledge and support
Lead project management of complex transactions including day-to-day management of large cross-functional teams and external advisors
Manage project leads of small- and mid-sized transactions through guidance and challenging
Lead transaction negotiations together w. BU sponsor
Drive the development of internal M&A knowledge hub, develop curriculum and content; educate own team in detail and businesses on core aspects
Coordinate and manage internal M&A process incl. stakeholder management and preparation of internal decision boards (investment committees, board meetings)
Your Profile:
8-10+ years of work experience within Investment Banking, M&A Advisory, Private Equity or Corporate M&A, with a strong track record of successfully closed transactions
Knowledge of complex Industrial markets, ideally in most of the sectors we are serving
Additional knowledge of growth markets within Renewable Energy and Sustainable Power Solutions is a huge plus
Experience in management and development of multiple large cross-functional teams
Excellent technical knowledge/skills in financial modelling with the ability to educate and teach others (e.g., business model and synergy assessment, accounting principles, valuation, SPA)
Experience in initial target approach and development of a strong relationship with target management
Strong network within M&A community and/or Industrials
Excellent academic background, solid technical understanding beneficial
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex topics in a concise manner to a wide range of audiences, incl. board-level - both to German and English native speakers
Entrepreneurial mindset with a high sense of responsibility and the willingness to take initiative in a dynamic environment
