Acre has partnered with The Children's Place, US-based apparel retailer with stores across the country and a booming e-commerce business; to help fill a new Director of Responsible Sourcing position.

This individual will drive and develop the evolution of The Children's Place responsible sourcing strategy and oversee their human rights and ethical trade program.

The successful candidate will devise and implement a strategy around innovations in supply chain compliance, worker well-being and strategy, exploring new technologies, enhanced risk assessment and ways to deploy worker voices and whistle blowers.

Through collaboration with global sourcing counterparts, vendors, government institutions and civil society organizations, you will ensure their responsible sourcing goals and objectives are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal and external organizations globally to realize the organization's commitment to responsible sourcing

  • Ensure global alignment and fulfillment of a wide range of responsible sourcing programs designed to protect and enhance the brand

  • Identify new and existing opportunities to support key responsible sourcing programs that positively impact people and the communities affected by our business

  • Develop and executes the company's responsible sourcing roadmap in areas

  • Engage the donor community on potential private-public partnership

  • Participate in key industry policy discussions

  • Guide stakeholder relationships with donors, NGOs, government representatives, and development agencies

  • Review theirs and third-party audits

  • Create new methodologies/assessment practices to enhance worker's voice and mitigate labor risks

  • Recognize and implements service providers/programs that provide impactful remediation services

  • Roll out workplace training programs to improve the lives of the workers who make their product

  • Grow new external partnership and programs to evolve their factory worker well-being platform

  • Create recognition programs for vendor-owned initiatives that align with their worker well-being goals

  • Work directly with the Director Sustainability to leverage the Responsible Sourcing team on the roll out of environmental initiatives in the supply chain

  • Guide periodic reviews/revisions of Vendor Code of Conduct requirements

  • Create, maintains and improves process and protocols related to auditing, remediation and reporting

  • Analyze and Identify industry trends and best practices

  • Manage forecasting and budgeting for travel and audits

  • Lay out cross-functional support to business partners such as Legal, HR and Finance with issues related to compliance, finance, reporting and employment related activities

  • Take a leadership role in company's talent management strategy and efforts - including recruitment, training, coaching and retention

Reporting directly to the VP, Environment & Social Responsibility, you will manage an international team of 10 across the USA, China, South Africa, and India.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Corporate Responsibly or Responsible Sourcing; garment industry experience a plus

  • Leadership/managerial/supervisory experience

  • An strong commitment to ethics and integrity

  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development, project management and program implementation

  • Understanding of international labor standards and human rights issues
