Acre is delighted to be partnered with a globally recognised environmental services businesses to identify a Divisional Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) Lead, to be based in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for an eager and intelligent SHEQ professional to join an internationally acclaimed business with a strong reputation in the environmental sector, to lead a business-critical division.

Reporting into the UK QHSE Director, this crucial leadership position will be responsible for managing and developing a team of 13 QHSE specialists across two specialist nuclear and radioactive material sites.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Providing QHSE leadership of the division, ensuring that both sites are compliant and operating in line with wider business systems and protocols

  • Working closely with the divisional board, as well as acting as the prime interface with licensees, regulators and other stakeholders

  • Leading the divisional environmental and sustainability reporting programmes

  • Overseeing the divisional Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental management systems, including PAS99, ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 and ISO17025

  • Ensuring compliance with the requirements of Ionising Radiation Regulation (IR99)

Person Specification

  • Radioactive waste management knowledge and practical experience

  • Extensive management systems experience

  • Knowledge of process safety management (CCPS)

  • Excellent influencing and networking skills

  • A proven ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Ambitious and results driven with a strong desire to exceed expectations both internally and externally

  • A desire to learn quickly and adapt positively to changing business demands
