As part of the Group's commitment to their net-zero strategy they are seeking to appoint an Environment Manager to support the Environment Team's strategy to reduce the emissions the bank finance by more than 50 per cent by 2030. What you'll be doing

As a subject mater expert, you will be counted on for your specialist knowledge on environmental sustainability issues, using this know-how to develop initiatives that contribute to the Group's transition to net-zero. You will be given the chance to collaborate across the Group to develop their existing decarbonisation approach and delve into other new relevant areas, for example biodiversity and nature.

Due to your understanding of the implications of climate change you will provide technical support on this topic alongside other relevant areas, such as the preservation of natural capital/biodiversity. Group-wide collaboration gives you a chance to develop the decarbonisation approach and support the progression of the environmental sustainability policy.

You will be expected to engage in leading industry initiatives to understand emerging themes and regulatory developments. Doing all this whilst supporting the development of the Group's environmental sustainability policy and internal frameworks through analysis and benchmarking.

What you can bring to the business

  • Specialist knowledge on climate change, environmental sustainability issues, green finance and their combined impact on the Group.

  • Business insight that can help drive critical initiatives and meet objectives.

  • Effective communication that can develop and deliver clear communications to a diverse audience.

  • Coming from a consultancy or corporate with experience in science-based target setting for any carbon intensive sector such as; oil & gas, power, agriculture, manufacturing, housing, automotive, transport etc.

  • The ability to build networks both formal and informal inside and outside the organisation.

  • A problem-solving ability that encourages others to think differently.
