Are you an experienced professional with proven expertise in pollution, air and chemical management, seeking a new challenge in the sustainable business space?

Acre is collaborating with a high-impact global retailer that has continued growth plans for their already 120 strong ethical trade and environmental sustainability function. As sustainability sits as a core metric and priority which the company consistently seeks to elevate, they have recognised the room for further improvement with the addition of a Chemistry and Air manager.

Reporting directly to the Senior Technical Manager, your scope will be mainly focused on delivering the Chemicals Management and Air Management Roadmaps. This opportunity is rare as it allows the development based on your interpretation and prior expertise.

In this innovative new function, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be responsible for the governance of Chemical and Pollution management program, including ownership of the RSL

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Chemicals / Air standard operating procedure

  • Elevate the chemicals management performance of the supply base, inclusive of compliance and sustainable chemistry

  • Manage a robust monitoring programme via CleanChain

  • Support continuous improvement of supplier performance metrics

  • Manage a team of 2 and be responsible for identifying future team growth requirements

  • Being the point of contact for internal teams relating to anything Chemistry or Air related

  • Deliver training and engagement internally across a range of departments

  • Active engagement with relevant third parties and external collaborations

  • Track and report data, continuing to refine data analytics to improve performance

You will likely have the following:

  • A qualification in Chemistry, Sustainability, Environmental Science or other relevant area to degree level (BSc/MSc)

  • 5 years' experience related to Chemical Sustainability

  • Professional experience with product manufacturing processes

  • Project management and leadership traits

  • Adaptability within a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills (for both internal and external stakeholders)
