Acre is supporting a global private markets business with an AuM of +$11bn seeking to hire an ESG & Impact Associate to join its team.
To date, the manager invests in primary (fund commitments), secondaries and co-investments across multiple jurisdictions and within a broad range of blind pool funds and segregated accounts. In a newly created role, you will be supporting the integration of ESG and sustainability considerations across its business. This broad-ranging ESG functional specialist role will work collaboratively with team members across multiple functions including Investment, Compliance, Portfolio Management, Operations, Product and Strategy. The business has an exciting future following its recent acquisition by one of the leaders in alternative asset management in Latin America with over 30 years' of experience in Private Equity, infrastructure, Real Estate and Credit.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting implementation of sustainability/ ESG strategy & policies in line with regulations and market trends
Coordinating and helping ensure compliance with relevant ESG/ sustainability-related laws and regulations (working with retained external legal advisors)
Collection, research and analysis of ESG/ sustainability data for the purpose of client reporting, regulatory reporting, annual sustainability reporting, and ad-hoc requests
Supporting investment team members in ESG/ sustainability-related investment due diligence, and ongoing monitoring, engagement and stewardship activities
Working with product and strategy teams on the development of marketing materials, responding to new client RFIs, development of new product offerings, and other special projects
Keeping abreast of market trends/best practices and assisting with thought leadership
You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact across the business and the wider private equity landscape through garnering insights and identifying action areas from analytics of portfolio ESG data, engaging GPs in ESG/ sustainability-related best practices, influencing continual improvement and strengthening of the fund's Responsible Investment processes in line with best practices and market trends, and helping meet needs of existing and new client mandates.
Experience Sought:
5+ years' experience working in private markets
Subject matter knowledge in ESG/ sustainability disciplines (including familiarity with the regulatory landscape in Europe - e.g. EU SFDR, TCFD, SDR, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced and collaborative environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to engage and influence multiple stakeholders
Entrepreneurial mindset and commercial outlook
