Our client, a prestigious global private equity firm is seeking a Climate Specialist. This is a newly created position within the ESG team and is based out of the London office.
Our client offers a range of strategies and invests in a variety of industry sectors, including consumer, technology and healthcare across Europe, North America and Asia.
The Climate Specialist will lead the delivery of the ambitious climate agenda and targets, building on the foundation already in place. This is an opportunity to influence across the investment lifecycle and affect positive change at the portfolio company level across the funds.

Role responsibilities include:
Analysing climate risks and opportunities for roadmaps and practical solutions on how businesses can make the low carbon transition
Physical and transition risk analysis at pre-investment ESG Due Diligence
Building relationships, engaging and influencing a range of stakeholders, including Executives, within the portfolio companies
Working closely with investment colleagues to contribute to climate thinking at the deal origination stage
Managing and working with third-party consultants
Experience and competencies sought:
In a consulting, in-house or investment-related context, the experience of working strategically with businesses on the climate transition journey
A commercial, creative and pragmatic approach to improving the climate performance of companies
The ability to influence and build relationships, along with strong communication skills
Experience in areas such as science-based targets (SBT), TCFD, carbon pricing and offsetting, GHG measurement, carbon footprinting, assessing physical and transitional risks
