Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board, you will be responsible for developing a sector leading ESG strategy which seeks to embed sustainability into all aspects of the organisation's operations.
Your responsibilities will include:

Working closely with the Corporate Affairs Manager to build an ESG brand that is recognised throughout the UK Government, the community and the UK maritime industry
Identifying initiatives and projects within the community that align with the Authority's purpose, vision and values

Working with the CEO and CFO, take ownership of the ESG elements of the Corporate Risk Register
You will have:
Proven experience of developing ESG strategies and plans with complex interactions in a highly visible, transparent and scrutinised environment
Strong influencing skills - the capacity to balance the need for a rigorous, disciplined and programmatic approach with the ability to win hearts and minds and affect a cultural shift within the organisation
A robust understanding of GHG emissions management
Proven ability to effectively line manage individuals, providing clear instruction, appropriate challenge and supporting individual development
This opportunity is primarily based at the Authority's head office in Harwich, however, there is potential for a hybrid working arrangement.
