Are you an ESG specialist looking to join an ambitious and purpose-driven firm?

Our client is a leading independent European private markets infrastructure fund manager. Since its formation, responsible business has been at its core, with a focus on the sustainable infrastructure of the future.

The firm fosters a culture of continuous ESG improvement and sees ESG as a key part of its investment strategy, not a compliance activity. Therefore, the firm is looking to hire an experienced ESG professional to support the fast growth of its ESG activities and to lead its sustainability efforts within its diversified portfolio.

Reporting to the ESG Director, you will be supporting and collaborating with developing and driving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives for the corporate entity and European infrastructure portfolio under the guidance and supervision of senior ESG and investment professionals.

Your responsibilities:

  • Keeping up to date with increasing and evolving regulatory ESG trends and legal requirements, including the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and EU Taxonomy Regulation.

  • Going beyond compliance and understanding the KPIs and methodology appropriate to demonstrate the ESG performance and desired impact alongside financial targets.

  • Supporting the ESG team members on developing and maintaining the ESG performance process and reporting framework throughout the investment cycle.

  • Facilitating and controlling quantitative and qualitative data collection from the portfolio companies.

  • Supporting and coordinating quarterly and annual ESG reports to investors, including the TCFD disclosure and impact assessment using the Joint Impact Model, and preparing the annual report to UN PRI.

  • Liaising with investors and other stakeholders regarding ESG performance and impact.

Your profile:

  • Advanced university degree in international business, economics, finance, sustainability, or similar.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an ESG reporting function in private equity, pension fund, private equity-owned company, or consulting.

  • Exposure to sustainability / ESG projects or standards through consulting or financial experience.

  • Familiarity with ESG metrics and data analysis.

  • Analytical, systematic, thorough, and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage short deadlines while maintaining high standards of work.

  • Fluency in English is required both verbally and in writing.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to develop sustainability and ESG management skills in a private equity context, working with internal and external stakeholders, across a wide range of infrastructure sectors, in a dynamic business environment.
