Acre is engaged on a retained basis to recruit an Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Manager for the London office of a leading international private equity firm.

Our client invests in a wide range of industry sectors also includingconsumer, healthcare, industrials and technology, ranging in size and complexity with global customers and supply chains. Their clients are international top tier institutional investors including private and public pension funds.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-established, experienced and responsible private equity investor at an exciting stage of its growth strategy.

Contributing to the expansion of the established ESG programme and innovative going forward, responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with investment colleagues to support pre-investment ESG due diligence, typically alongside external ESG consultants

  • Engaging with portfolio company management teams during the ownership period, to identify and support the implementation of ESG value creation initiatives and ESG polices

  • Analysing the ESG data of portfolio companies for performance enhancement and reporting

  • Support external communication to investors and stakeholders on material developments in the firm's ESG performance

  • Enhancingreporting and monitoring systems

  • Developing ESG training, guidance and toolkits to support investment teams with their ESG knowledge and responsibilities

  • Contributing ideas to the ESG strategy at all stages of the investment process

  • Keeping up-to-date with relevant regulatory and industry developments at fund and portfolio company level

Desired experience and competencies:

  • Experience in sustainability/ESG gained either in consulting orin an in-house ESG position, within in a private markets investor or investment bank

  • A commercial approach to sustainability/ESG in a business context

  • Strong analytical skills including use of Excel, plus monitoring, reporting, communication and presentation skills

  • Technical understanding of climate change issues and transition to net zero
