This business, one of the UK's largest port operators, continues to strengthen its sustainability ambition with the creation of a new position, an ESG Performance Manager. This exciting role will give you the opportunity to lead in driving improvements in decarbonisation, biodiversity, waste, water and social impact across a vast operational portfolio.

This organisation has recently launched a sector-leading sustainability strategy, and this position will play a critical role in further shaping their own ESG goals as well as contributing to the success of sectors across the UK such as offshore wind, green hydrogen and sustainable construction.

Reporting to the Group Head of Strategy and with a dotted line to the CFO, this role can leverage real change and create lasting impact. You will also be given the opportunity to progress quickly through the business if you show ambition, willingness, and creativity.

In this role you will:

  • Own the process to collate ESG data from across the business

  • Data collection and input for greenhouse gas emissions inventories

  • Upload and verify ESG data including:

    • Energy consumption

    • Air quality

    • Waste management

    • Water consumption

    • Scope 3 emissions activities

  • Production of regular reports and interactive dashboards, including those to support KPIs and metrics for the updated Companies Act, climate-related reporting

  • Support the governance of the organisation's sustainability strategy initiatives

To excel in the role, you will bring:

  • Data collection experience and the ability to analyse across multiple systems.

  • Experience working in ESG data management is preferred but not essential. The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate their interest in ESG topics.

  • An ambitious attitude. Whilst this is largely a quantitative role, we are looking to speak with people that have a strategic approach and the desire to progress within the organisation.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference, not only to the sustainability performance of a major port operator but to the UK energy transition as a whole. To join this ambitious and committed business as the ESG Performance Manager, please apply here.
