Acre has been engaged on an exclusive basis by a high-profile property management and FM business to identify their new Fire Safety Manager. You will work closely with and report into the Health and Safety Manager to determine and implement their fire safety strategy as well as a management system that ensures building safety risks are managed across their portfolio.
The primary focus of this role is their London residential portfolio but there will also be times when you will work across a portfolio of wider mixed used and commercial buildings and be required to engage with a wide variety of senior management, on site staff, clients, and residents.
Some key responsibilities
Develop and implement an effective fire safety management system aligned to ISO 9997
Prepare relevant properties and building managers for the introduction of the Building Safety Bill, including collation of golden thread information, resident engagement strategy and building safety cases
Assist with the operational arrangements and management strategy for mixed used properties
Provide general assistance, including the preparation of guidance documents, to facilities managers and building managers with fire safety queries
Oversee the fire risk assessment program for their residential portfolio
Investigate significant (high) fire safety risks, building safety risks and fire safety incidents/ mandatory occurrence reporting. Identify root causes and implement procedural and management system changes to prevent reoccurrence
You'll need great engagement and influencing skills, the ability to coach and support non-technical stakeholders and be up for working in an open, collaborative and fast paced environment.
Experience required
Member of the IFE with an aim to achieve Grad IFE membership or similar with the FPA, with up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation, its application and best practice
Demonstrable track record of delivering measurable improvements in fire safety
Proven ability to influence at a corporate governance level and engage across the business, with ability to lead by example
Evidence of influencing and driving behavioural change across a multi-site organisation; holding excellent interpersonal communications skills, including excellent credibility
Adaptable, positive, and proactive to changing commercial drivers and assessing the impact on modern fire safety issues
Project management experience within a safety environment is also desirable
