Global Lead, Sustainability Innovation, Collaboration and Engagement: Vacuum Technique Business Area

Atlas Copco's Vacuum Techniques Business Area represents a significant proportion of Atlas Copco Group providing products, services and solutions to industries globally. Vacuum plays an important role in our modern lives; it's essential to the production of many every day advanced consumer products such as smart phones and laptops, medicines, chemicals and cars. Vacuum is also needed in many challenging applications from the production of power and steel, food processing and packaging, to the ultra-high vacuum requirements of space simulation or high energy physics research.

Already well underway on its sustainability journey, the business is now looking for a Global Lead in Sustainability Innovation, Collaboration and Engagement to join the Atlas Copco VT Sustainability leadership team.

In the role, you will oversee the development and delivery of a Sustainability engagement strategy which curates knowledge across colleague networks, collaborates with colleagues globally to develop our Sustainability story, and establishes platforms for innovation and collaboration developing relationships internally and externally.

You will lead a team responsible for:

  • Working with the business to develop narrative and engagement on ACVT's impact on the global sustainable landscape, working with some of the most innovative products and solutions developed which respond to opportunities such as the circular economy transition and climate mitigation by carbon capture

  • Curating a sustainability knowledge centre consisting of sustainability global data, regulatory, markets, NGOs, and innovators, you will establish a physical and virtual presence which provides the framework which helps shape the development of our sustainability innovations and organisational decision making

  • Developing internal communications network which engages on all aspects of sustainability including carbon, energy, waste, water, biodiversity, and social value across our value chain sharing both innovation and important regulatory updates

  • Working with internal and external partners, to establish a programme of content and publications which communicate the ACVT Sustainability roadmap and impact within client markets

  • Establishing a sustainability events programme which engages the VT business area globally leveraging internal and external resources to develop our sustainability workplace culture and knowledge

  • Developing & executing a sustainability learning programme to include professional development, networking, technical training and upskilling on sustainability at all levels of the business

This is a Global Leadership position reporting into the Vice President of Sustainability. You'll work with other global leads to create a culture of sustainability excellence and drive communication across ACVT, with the objective to create a physical and online presence for Sustainability.

You will:

  • Ensure ACVT's sustainability business initiatives, projects, and products are engaged with globally, inspiring shared purpose and building a knowledge centre that informs colleagues of the organisation's best-in-class sustainability work

  • Set the strategic direction to create a customer focused environment and drive a sense of urgency and ownership throughout the organisation

  • Have experience working internationally with a global remit

  • Bring knowledge of the manufacturing, technology, or professional services sectors

  • Be a people focused collaborator and have worked within a matrix environment
