Acre is working with a large multinational in the industrial supply space, in its search for a Head of ESG. In this newly created role, you will build on the existing foundation to shape and drive a best-in-class ESG and Sustainability strategy. Focusing on clear and tangible outcomes, the organisation is looking to create a Group-wide framework that adds significant value across ESG to the diverse range of operating companies within the Group, as well as customers and suppliers globally.

As the Group Head of ESG you'll be a credible practitioner driven by people, able to capture hearts and minds and embed sustainable decision making at the centre of business operations for a range of stakeholders. You will work with strategic, commercial, and operational leadership as the go-to sustainability specialist and help to upskill colleagues on ESG across the business.

Day to day, you'll spend your time:

  • Developing the Group ESG roadmap and utilising findings from the business' materiality assessment to formalise priorities across ESG

  • Establishing the most appropriate suite of ESG reporting under GRI, adopting Science Based Targets and agreeing on a Group governance structure

  • Working with client-facing and operational leadership to build ESG capacity in key areas such as training and innovation

  • Establishing the Group's emissions strategy, including the development and implementation of a Scope 3 process

You'll need to work across operating businesses with varying levels of maturity so a resilient and creative approach will serve you well. To ensure you thrive in your new role, you'll also bring:

  • ESG acumen and the ability to also drive Health & Safety performance through solid KPI management

  • Experience of being able to drive change paired with a collaborative, empathetic, and pragmatic working style

  • A strong foundation in analytics and reporting; able to translate data into actions

  • Good programme management skills
