Bellway is a FTSE 250 five-star housebuilder that operates 22 divisions across England, Scotland, and Wales. If you are looking to join and lead an organisation that is committed to both their own sustainability performance as well as the impact they have on communities across the UK, this could be the opportunity for you.

Bellway Homes is looking to recruit their Group Head of Sustainability. This comes at an opportune time as they launch their new sustainability strategy, Better with Bellway, enabling you to lead the company on a national level, ensuring sustainability is at the heart of the business.

Reporting to the Group Commercial Director, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, all working towards the overall business strategy - 'putting people and the planet first'.

Your key responsibilities in this role are to:

  • Oversee and develop the 'Better with Bellway' sustainability strategy, liaising with senior leaders, functional heads, and business sponsors to ensure the strategic aims are being met.

  • Ensure that Bellway's key sustainability policies and programmes are up to date with legislation and best-practice and are fully implemented across all the Company's operations.

  • Produce Bellway's carbon footprints (Scopes 1, 2 and 3), including managing the external verification process and reporting progress against our science-based targets, working with Group Technical and Innovations Manager.

  • Provide regular progress updates and presentations to the board on the BwB strategy, working closely with the Group Commercial Director.

  • Deliver responses to various ESG investor programmes, including but not limited to the Carbon Disclosure Project's 'Climate Change' and 'Forest' submissions.

Who you are:

  • You have experience leading sustainability at a strategic level.

  • You have experience working in construction, civil engineering, or a related sector.

  • You will possess a university degree in a relevant field.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a FTSE 250 housebuilding organisation as the sustainability lead, joining a team of senior leaders and a company that is committed to sustainability. Bellway have ambitious targets and are looking for an inspirational leader to join them as they look to continuously improve whilst benefitting communities across the UK.
