Acre has been engaged exclusively by the UK's largest manufacturer of pre-cast concrete solutions to engage a Group Safety, Health & Environmental Manager.

Your role will be to guide and advise the Senior Leadership of the business in attaining and embedding world class health, safety and environmental management performance. This will include creating a culture where Safety, Health & Environment is owned by the leadership team and ensuring employees across the organisation are fully engaged with SHE.

As Group Safety, Health and Environmental Manager you will work with the leadership team to create and implement a proactive strategy for Safety, Health & Environmental improvement whilst leading a team of 12 across the UK.

In addition, you will responsible for the following:

  • Participate in regular leadership and management meetings reviewing both SHE performance and results with each respective management team.

  • Develop and maintain a Safety, Health & Environment Management System.

  • Adhere to relevant National and EU legislation for Safety Health & Environment in construction, precast manufacturing and office-based environments.

  • Create and deliver a programme monitoring the SHE performance of the organisation through audits, inspections and senior level H&S conversations.

  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

  • Work alongside senior management to communicate and advise on options and recommendations for the development of excellent current and future SHE performance.

  • Drive forward the H&S performance of the organisation by identifying key performance results and trends.

  • Develop the SHE team to be a valued business partner, achieving a high level of professional competence for each member of the team.

  • Support the Performance Management of directors and managers with respect to their contribution to SHE performance improvement.

In addition, the successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • Has previously delivered transformational SHE change and performance improvements within a multi-site operation.

  • NEBOSH Diploma & IOSH (CMIOSH) min.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior Health Safety & Environmental managerial role.

  • Previous experience of working in a Manufacturing / Construction environment.

  • Be willing to travel; there will be extensive travel between plants and project sites, this is an essential part of the role and you must hold a valid driving licence.
