Located in the Midlands, their work spans across all areas of commercial real estate as well as housebuilding. Reporting into the MD, the business is looking for someone to join their forward-thinking business to deliver their 2030 sustainability vision and make a real difference to their developments, colleagues, occupiers, suppliers, and wider stakeholders. It is an exciting role, working with a great team and suitable for someone wanting to join a vibrant and expanding business.

Some responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the implementation & delivery of the 2030 Sustainability Strategy - developing policy and programmes and measuring the impact of their commitments and targets.

  • Working closely with the leadership team across investments, developments, and their residential business, to develop new processes and procedures to ensure sustainability is integrated across the whole property business

  • Raising awareness of current & future sustainability issues across the business and developing opportunities for employees to engage in the strategy.

  • Developing an external communication strategy in partnership with the Marketing Team to ensure stakeholder requirements are met and to enhance their brand and reputation.

  • Responsibility for the internal and external sustainability reporting & external accreditations including the management of disclosures and reporting to external benchmarks and indices. This requires working closely with the financial team.

  • Working with the Social Value Manager to improve existing community investment and engagement activities.

The successful candidate will be from the built environment and have exceptional communications and engagement skills combined with the ability to develop strong working relationships. You will also be highly adaptable and resilient to ensure success across a growing and fast paced environment.

Required skills and experience:

  • Good knowledge of all current and future legislation relating to responsible business issues including but not limited to net zero, diversity & inclusion, supply chain &social value.

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the built environment sector

  • Proven experience of sustainability delivery & managing & reporting sustainability data.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and develop lasting relationships

  • Effective project management experience both at a strategic and tactical level, you'll need to be comfortable getting involved at all levels of the business.
