Head of Carbon Markets Research

BeZero Carbon is looking to hire a Head of Carbon Markets Research.

Founded in April 2020, BeZero Carbon is a climate intelligence business that helps organisation's make smarter Net Zero decisions. They support clients through BeZero Carbon Markets, a data, analytics and ratings platform for the Voluntary Carbon Market, and through decarbonisation and natural capital solutions. Its 50-strong team combines expertise across climatic and earth sciences, remote sensing technologies, sell-side financial research, data and analytics, engineering, and public policy.

Their cutting-edge analytics platform and proprietary carbon rating methodology enables companies to discover, compare and value accredited carbon projects all over the world to make better investment decisions. The platform has seen significant traction with some of the largest global institutional investors, project developers and corporates already signed on as early users.

As Head of Carbon Markets Research, you will provide thought leadership for the firm and improve the product offering by layering a research product on top of the existing solution. You will work closely with the leadership, tech and data teams to integrate insights and new features into the product, while also producing high quality sector research reports and analysis that provide a cornerstone of platform content focused on meeting the needs of different customer groups.

You will be responsible for:

​

• Leading the carbon markets research & content generation for the BCM platform

• Coming up with new and innovative research product offerings for the BCM platform

• Developing key partnerships and relationships with carbon projects, carbon brokers and offset buyers

• Working with BeZero Carbon Solutions team on bespoke market research

• Supporting creation of marketing materials for BCM platform

• Supporting the creation of technology and software solutions, including working with the tech team to help develop our data management & processes

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

​

• Experience of working in a research or analysis role preferably within the financial sector, with experience and knowledge of the carbon markets

• Ability to take ownership and initiative to develop innovative research products

• Ability to create compelling commentary and narrative from data analysis, using strong quantitative skills to manipulate and analyse large data sets
