UK-based CEO Alison Ward has more than 25 years of international experience in sustainability and corporate affairs and has led the way in building capacity and connecting the whole value chain. CottonConnect work with some pioneering brands, including Primark, C&A, Carrefour and Lindex and an exciting portfolio of new business, as well as working closely with farmers to develop training and support in the procurement of cotton.

Are you looking for an integral communications role within a commercial organisation, that is making huge social impact across the apparel, FMCG and food sectors?

Your Opportunity

  • Lead and develop the communications strategy, building awareness of CottonConnect's activities with key stakeholders, from both an internal and external perspective.

  • Develop relationships with other communications professionals within various businesses and organisations.

  • Advance relationships with organisations such as Forum for the Future and Textile Exchange, keeping updated on the 2025 Sustainable Cotton Challenge and further industry strategy and legislation.

  • Enhance the newly launched website, working alongside the Social Media Specialist to drive engaging and insightful media content.

  • Telling the CottonConnect story, using supply chain data, government engagement and industry mapping to deliver a clear and meaningful message to the wider industry.

  • Connecting the global team of around 60 people, building a strong relationship with the HR Director, based in India, with travel to meet and communicate with the team in China, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

You will have:

  • The confidence to make independent decisions across corporate affairs and communications, becoming an ambassador for customer management and engagement.

  • Strong relationship building abilities, with experience of working in a global environment, understanding business from different cultural perspectives.

  • An articulate and engaging writing style, with the ability to liaise with thought leaders, thinktanks and local government.

  • Knowledge of the wider sustainability landscape, with previous exposure to industry-related events and topics.

  • A Commercial mindset, with experience of promoting media content and industry insight within a multi-stakeholder business or organisation.

  • Excellent time management and project organisational skills, understanding the importance of a calm and personable approach to meet tight deadlines.
