Our client, a global leading financial services provider with expertise in private banking, investment banking, and asset management, is looking to hire a new Head of Energy & Utilities for a growing Environment, Energy, and Sustainability team.

To achieve their goal, they have made a number of significant hires to support actioning their sustainability strategy, offering you the opportunity to work alongside other sustainability and financial services experts.

The business has a collaborative and inclusive working culture; they offer excellent training and development programs, as well as flexible working (no set days in the office).

You will lead the execution of the energy and utility strategy across the global site operations, including data centres, retail branches, office space and various other business sites. You will have extensive energy management systems, energy procurement and carbon reduction experience.

You will be able to apply your knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance their objectives, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and have strong project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time, create work plans, track progress, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and implement the energy and utilities procurement strategy across a range of global sites, including the management of budget costs

  • Ensure the procurement of renewable energy and carbon offsets are aligned to the business NetZero strategy and policies

  • Manage a team of two Energy & Utilities Managers who are responsible for supporting the implementation of environmental management systems

  • Drive energy efficiency and carbon reduction improvements through the implementation of ISO140001

  • Ensure the business maintains its status as fully compliant in regard to energy and utilities-related regulation globally

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in energy and utility procurement and budgeting

  • Experience in leading and implementing net-zero strategies focused on energy and carbon reduction for buildings and sites

  • Proven track record of working on building certification, producing energy reports, as well as conducting energy audits

  • Strong C-suite stakeholder management

  • Involvement in managing ISO 14001 or ISO 50001 accredited management systems

  • Exposure to the management of global regions
