Advetec is a rapidly growing biotechnology business developing and providing innovative aerobic digestion solutions aimed at waste reduction in a range of industries including the NHS, retail, shopping centres, food industries and the waste management sector.

Advetec's unique, modular solutions help customers significantly reduce the quantity of waste requiring onward transportation, reducing the amount and cost of waste disposal at site level.

The Head of Environmental Services & Policy will lead Advetec's environmental permitting strategy in the UK.

Advetec is now in a position to grow exponentially with a focus on the UK and European markets. You will be responsible for helping the business navigate the complex but highly important processes of environmental permitting and legislation, which will ensure Advetec meets its ambitious growth targets.

As Head of Environmental Services & Policy you will:

  • Collaborate with the sales, operations and engineering teams to create an environmental permitting strategy which ensures all current and future projects adhere to UK permitting regulations and legislation

  • Work in close partnership with local authorities to ensure that customers implementing Advetec systems complete the required permitting processes successfully

  • Be the subject matter expert and point of contact both internally and externally in relation to permitting and regulation

  • Translate complex permitting and sustainability problems into easily understandable tasks and tangible actions

  • Deliver specialist training and development across the business which meets Advetec's vision and helps drive a culture of behavioural change

  • Liaise with the appropriate statutory bodies on behalf of Advetec and its customers to ensure that regulatory requirements are met

  • Implement carbon measurement tools and reduction initiatives


Your profile

You will have a proven and impressive track record of implementing environmental & sustainability permitting regulations within a Regulatory Authority, or within a waste/engineering organisation that requires regular on site permitting.

You will also have:

  • A degree in an environmental management, sciences or engineering discipline

  • Full membership of a relevant professional body

  • The ability to take strategic views of environmental sustainability requirements for the business

  • Advanced knowledge of environmental and regulatory standards and legislation

  • Experience of site-based audit and inspection

  • A full UK driving license
