Acre is delighted to be working in partnership with Scape Group, who offer inspiring places for students to live and work. Designed exclusively for student living, Scape has a global portfolio of assets, across England, Ireland, and Australia, and with an ambitious development pipeline, they are soon to be expanding into the US market. Backed by an innovative investor, with strong ESG credentials, Scape are looking to hire their first Head of ESG to join their team in London.

Reporting into the Managing Director, you will have full autonomy and control of Scape's ESG journey. With support from external consultants, you will help shape the ESG strategy, working closely with their in-house senior leadership team, delivering board reports, engaging with their key investors, and building relationships across the ground to drive the sustainability agenda.

For Scape, ESG covers all things Environmental, Social, and Governance, and you will have knowledge and expertise across all 3 but with a particular interest in driving social value initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the development, benchmarking, implementation, and review of appropriate sustainability objectives, targets, and improvement programmes for Scape's properties.

  • Implementing Scape's strategy towards net Zero, both from a building and internal working practices perspective.

  • Being the key contact for reporting agencies, current or prospective investors and other stakeholders and the expert in ESG advice, across the whole property life cycle, as needed.

Scape is looking for an inspiring individual who is not only a thought leader but who can deliver tangible outputs through highly effective project management. You must be able to drive change through operating within the wider sector whilst collaborating with the boards and investors.

A bit about you:

  • You will be highly strategic, self-motivated and be comfortable in creating and delivering their new ESG strategy

  • You will Influence and make recommendations at a senior/Board level on areas from strategy to policy, governance, process, reporting, and business planning.

  • Having previous real estate, construction or FM experience would also be highly advantageous.
