Acre is pleased to be partnering with an award-winning global research company, who provides data and analytics to the financial services industry. The firm is seeking a Head of ESG Research to work closely with their newly appointed Head of Sustainability to further enhance and develop their existing ESG product offering.

The firm already has an established global ESG research function (comprising 13 employees) and has plans to further expand the team. This hire will lead the team and play a key role in the future development of the function.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and leverage new ESG data sources which can be used to drive the assessment of a private company or asset.

  • Lead of the development of ESG models, incorporating technology such as machine learning or NLP to improve ESG data and signals.

  • Oversee the activities of the ESG Research Team in collecting and assuring ESG data.

  • Build relevant, actionable ESG benchmarks at asset, fund and investor level.

  • In the absence of sufficient data, help to identify other ESG signals which can be used to understand ESG opportunities and risks.

  • Play a critical role in the development of a best-in-class ESG product offering through thought leadership and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience modelling ESG assessments using ESG KPIs.

  • Significant experience working directly with ESG data at an investment manager, bank, consultancy or data provider.

  • Alternative asset and private capital industry experience are desirable but not essential.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
