We are working with a highly liquid, fast growing impact alternative PE house to find an MD, Head of Impact for its soon-to launch climate catalyst fund. This is a crucial role, sitting in the investment team working to manage, measure and communicate progress in generating green impact at scale, while concurrently shaping the field's understanding of how to integrate green impact into successful investment strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage impact opportunities and risks across the investment process lifecycle; from pre-investment due diligence through to ownership and exit of fund managers

  • Manage, coordinate, and execute the collection of impact data from the business' portfolio companies, providing support for timely, accurate, and consistent reporting

  • Identify new impact opportunities and initiatives for managing emerging impact risks, to aid the management and create further value at portfolio and fund manager level

  • Empower and influence fund managers to advance their green impact management frameworks and strategies, including the provision of technical guidance and support to management teams, through coaching and sharing of best practice

  • Execute the data analysis and write green impact reports in alignment with industry standards and frameworks, with the ability to turn impact data into meaningful stories for the organisation and investors

Experience Sought:

  • Demonstrable experience of impact strategy development and implementation in alternatives/Private Equity. Experience in a sustainable investing context strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with key frameworks and metrics in green impact measurement methodologies

  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with a keen ability to synthesise and present complex data in a simple, compelling, meaningful way to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Proven team player and demonstrated capability of mentoring junior staff; builds working partnerships and promotes collaboration in the workplace

  • Ability to perform in a start-up environment with a problem-solving and solutions-oriented mindset. Takes ownership for outcomes, a self-starter, and is personally accountable for results
