An international asset manager at the forefront of innovation in responsible and sustainable investing is partnering with Acre to appoint a Head of Policy and Advocacy to join the London office.

This is a Director level position with responsibility for developing and coordinating the implementation of the firm's responsible investment policy and advocacy programme.

Working closely with leadership teams across asset classes and geographies, the successful hire will contribute insights on policy matters that will support fund strategy, investment decisions, research, stewardship and company engagement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight, support and development of the firm's responsible investment policy related topics to ensure that the firm is at the forefront of best practice and acting in line with the firm's advocacy positions

  • Representing the firm at conferences, industry initiatives, with policymakers and regulators

  • Developing and recommending to the executive committee a proposed advocacy strategy and thought leadership on practical steps the industry could take to better support sustainable growth

  • Meeting with clients and prospective clients to update them on key policy developments and understand their policy needs

  • Responsibility for reporting the firm's policy and advocacy progress internally, to the board, to clients and publicly

  • Working with marketing and communications colleagues to ensure that all responsible investment and climate change policy activities are effectively represented in internal and external communications

Experience and competencies sought:

  • Public policy analysis and advocacy in areas related to climate change, public policy, responisble investment and sustainable development

  • The ability to apply experience at the interface of sustainable investment and policy; demonstrating a commercial approach in order to achieve results in an investment management business

  • The ability to influence and build relationships with credibility and flair

Experience in a fund management firm is likely to be helpful. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, those able to apply their experience in this leadership position.
