They primarily work in private markets, with specialisms in affordable housing and real estate, venture capital, private debt and private equity.

Besides its client work, TGE also runs collaborative market-building projects. One strong focus is on accelerating the mainstreaming of Place-Based Impact Investing (PBII) to help fulfil the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Just Transition and Levelling Up agendas.

Position Summary

The Good Economy is looking for an individual to join their dynamic and growing impact advisory business as the Head of Real Estate Advisory. You will have a lead role in growing and managing their impact services for real estate clients working closely with the Head of Impact Services for Housing.

The main client base is real estate investors looking to develop impact strategies and impact funds who are seeking support in defining their impact investing strategy and impact measurement approach.

However, there is a new business opportunity to develop services for local government and developers as well as the opportunity to play an active role in their high profile market-building project to scale up the mainstream adoption of place-based impact investing in support of the SDG, Just Transition and Levelling Up agendas.

You will bring knowledge and experience in real estate investment and development that allows you to act as a trusted and seasoned advisor to their clients in the field of ESG and impact measurement, management and reporting, with a focus on social impact and how real estate development can contribute to place-making and community well-being.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop a growth strategy for TGE Real Estate including scale-up of services for European clients and be accountable for the delivery of strategy and achieving agreed business targets

  • Lead and manage the winning and delivery of impact services for real estate clients

  • Co-lead product/service development in collaboration with the wider team

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key players in the real estate industry e.g. Urban Land Institute, British Property Federation, policy and regulatory bodies

  • Build and manage a team of consultants and impact analysts delivering TGE's best-in-class impact services

The ideal candidate will have some of the following knowledge and experience:

  • Proven leadership and management skills

  • Knowledge and a strong network in the area of real estate investment and development

  • Experience in regeneration projects, mixed-use developments, and commercial real estate

  • Knowledge and understanding of environmental and social sustainability issues, regulatory trends and reporting frameworks, with a bent towards social impact

  • Experience working with local authorities, local stakeholders, developers and investors

  • Experience supporting ESG and impact investment strategy development in the real estate sector would be desirable

  • Experience of socio-economic impact assessments

  • Experience in real estate across European markets would be beneficial

  • European languages, in particular German would be beneficial
