The engineering and manufacturing sectors are evolving at pace, with sustainability at the heart of many changes and ambitions; this is your opportunity to enable the delivery and evolution of a sustainability strategy with international reach and impact.

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) is a world leader in precision manufacturing. The business is dedicated to engineering fluid management solutions for the life science and process industries and is part of the Spirax Sarco Group, enabling a diverse global customer base to deliver vital products and services, including food, pharmaceuticals and energy

In partnership with Acre, WMFTS is seeking a leader to empower the business in delivering the Group One Planet sustainability strategy and work across the business's ten brands to future-proof its portfolio of products and operations

In this newly created role, you will report directly into WMFTS Managing Director, supporting the leadership team to apply an ESG lens to decision making. You will also lead a growing team of sustainability experts as part of a wider Group network, driving one of the six key pillars in the One Planet strategy and contributing to the others.

As part of the Group Sustainability Committee, you will be collectively responsible for the overall evolution, measurement and execution of the Group One Planet sustainability strategy.

  • This role will be instrumental in communicating and building awareness of the sustainability strategy, ensuring there is a clear 'What does it mean to me?' understanding for all colleagues across the WMFTS business.

  • Coach and help foster an inspired and motivated team and working environment, championing high-performance and reflecting company culture, values, and behaviours

  • Nurture key external relationships throughout the value chain and develop teams and individuals internally to champion sustainable innovation with customers and suppliers

  • Contribute to the wider objectives and values of the business, including equity, diversity and inclusion, safety, and wellbeing

To be successful in the role:

  • You will be an experienced sustainability/environmental professional who will ideally have enjoyed a similar senior role within a larger matrix/multi-site and commercial organisation.

  • Demonstrate a compelling engagement style and strong leadership skills, paired with a people-centric and collaborative working approach, able to manage and empower a passionate team

  • Bring knowledge of best practice measurement and performance evaluation, including exposure to relevant non-financial reporting and key sustainability indices

  • Have strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including developing and writing business cases, strategy documents, executive briefings, and reports

This compelling role blends the reach and impact that being part of an FTSE 100 Group brings with the opportunity to work hand in glove with WMFTS' operations, innovation and engineering teams to deliver genuinely embedded solutions for a sustainable future, championed by employees and customers alike.
