Frozen food is well positioned as consumers move towards more sustainable choices, delivering healthy, affordable products that have additional benefits such as helping to reduce food loss and waste. Nomad Foods is looking to leverage this, through its brands, supporting customers in making healthier, more sustainable choices. As outlined in its latest sustainability report, 92% of Nomad Foods products are categorised as a healthier meal choice and the company has ambitious targets in place to source 100% of its fish and seafood and 100% of vegetables to recognised sustainability certifications and standards.

Acre is supporting Nomad Foods in the search for a Head of Sustainability. In recent years, the company has developed a strong sustainability programme, that is delivered through collaboration with other functions from across the business, in particular, Marketing, Supply Chain, Corporate Affairs and Finance. Your role will be to build on this, supporting the company as it looks to commercialise and embed sustainability further.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with marketing, commercial and corporate affairs teams, wider leadership and local markets to leverage sustainability as a driver for category and brand reappraisal, reputation and top line growth

  • Support for customer, media, political and stakeholder engagement

  • Ensure the company complies with all legally required external sustainability/ESG reporting requirements

  • Support the Investor Relations team to respond to investor queries

  • Lead Nomad Foods' external Sustainability Advisory Board engagement and development

  • Manage a small team of sustainability experts and support training and capability building across the organisation

Skills & Experience:

  • Multi-market experience in a management role within sustainability, ideally within a consumer facing company

  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation

  • Experience engaging with customers, industry bodies and NGOs

  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting, standards and initiatives

  • Willingness to take accountability for delivery, with a proactive, results orientated mindset

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
