Acre has partnered with a privately held multinational consumer goods conglomerate on a newly created role the head up the business's sustainability strategy. The Head of Sustainable Development will have functional oversight across the private group, leading the execution of the overarching strategy for sustainable development, specifically in relation to Climate, Water and Waste. In addition, to collaborate as necessary with other functions and operating companies on People and Community issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop, review and implement appropriate policies in all relevant aspects of sustainable development, in close collaboration with the publicly listed sister organisation

  • To contribute to and oversee sustainability roadmaps for operating subsidiaries that encourage greater integration of sustainability and, ultimately, leadership in their sectors of operation

  • To ensure that the business has a clear pathway to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, including the establishment of Science Based Targets and KPIs for operating subsidiaries

  • To manage the corporate Sustainable Development Fund and help to reinvigorate the Fund's purpose and utilisation

  • To provide advice and guidance to the board on sustainable development matters and work closely with other heads of functions in the London based corporate office to embed sustainability into the culture of the organisation

Key Experience:

  • Experience in developing and delivering successful international sustainability strategies across complex organisations

  • Strong leadership experience and competencies that allows for tactful influencing across the business leadership team and the development of a high performing team and function

  • Relevant technical qualifications and proven ability to keep up with changes in legislation and sustainability trends
