A leading global provider of ESG data, insights and solutions is looking to add a senior hire to either its London or New York office.
The firm's client base ranges from large institutional asset management firms, investment banks and stock exchanges through to smaller alternative asset firms.
The company is looking to unseat the larger, more generalist data providers and rating agencies and offer higher quality and more specialised product for use to quantify ESG and impact outcomes. The data and scores generated can be used both to monitor returns and to inform future investment decisions.
The firm focusses on three core areas:
Collection of unique raw data
Data analysis and aggregation (using a variety of information sources)
Presentation of outcomes and interaction with end users via their platform
The firm is now seeking a Head of Sustainable Investment Data to advise the business on ESG measurement methodology, as well as being an SME on major sustainability and finance concepts.
Key responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of measurement methodology & sustainable products and to help to inform business strategy
Participate in the implementation of these recommendations, working with the product team, data collection team and developers
Lead client and industry engagement and outreach - to gather and share information about innovations in ESG measurement and to better understand the requirements of end users
Represent the firms at industry forums and own the relationship with regulators, NGOs and trade associations
Ensure documentation and guidance is clear and easy to understand for clients and internal stakeholders
Support the Sales and Account Management teams as required
Requirements:
Passion for sustainable investing and ESG
Significant experience within sustainability finance, with extensive knowledge of one or more of the following: ESG measurement and frameworks; streamlining ESG integration; ESG fund or index creation; environmental finance and sustainability reporting
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work with large data sets
A minimum of 7 years relevant experience from within a financial institution, ratings agency, stock exchange, consultancy, or NGO
Knowledge of both private and public markets and as well as the key ESG players
