Acre is working with an NGO whose focus is ensuring the credibility of voluntary carbon markets internationally. They are passionate about achieving an ethical and representable framework to attract participation from corporates, governments, non-profits and other types of organisations that can cause positive impact. Looking to create a code of practice to govern use of carbon offsets and achieve Net Zero targets, the company is seeking a Contract and Engagement Manager. This is a new position, in reflection of the team growth and is an initial contract with the likely chance of extension.

You will be the organisation's key person for developing their external engagement strategy, by taking ownership of content across all external channels such as digital engagement to develop awareness of the Code of Practice.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide structure and clarity to internal and external stakeholders through presentation of evidence and influence to drive change

  • Refine technical concepts to make them digestible for stakeholders, including challenging concepts that are unclear

  • Commission support from external agencies where appropriate, including budget and deliverable management

  • Manage maintenance or digital channels, including development of website, digital and social media content

  • Organise and deliver high quality events and speaking engagements

  • Review and revise thought leadership content such as articles and speeches, as well as briefings for speakers ahead of events

You will have:

  • Ideally, past exposure to climate communications in particular carbon pricing

  • Experience of high-volume stakeholder engagement

  • Skillset in digital and external communications
