Acre is delighted to be working with a global manufacturer supplying many of the best-known automotive brands to hire an interim Director of ESG.

This is a key role in the business whilst the group goes through structural change. You will work in collaboration with various cross-functional key stakeholders and C-suite to drive Sustainability and ESG progress. You will be driving sustainability performance in its businesses and reporting on key ESG metrics, which will be a core part of the strategy, whilst playing a key, pivotal role in its journey toward being a publicly listed company on the London Stock exchange.

If you're a senior ESG and Sustainability leader with a background working at PLCs making impactful change, this will be an ideal contract for you. This is initially a 6-month contract, with a view to extend if required.

Key responsibilities and focus for the initial 6-month contract:

  • Establishing an effective ESG framework which will enable the new holding company to report and communicate on sustainability in line with listed market leaders across the globe.

  • Working with the leadership team to define the sustainability strategy and key targets for the new holding company.

  • Horizon scanning and maintaining strong relationships with relevant external stakeholders to ensure the group can report effectively across key ESG themes and respond to appropriate non-financial disclosures.

  • Working closely with each of the businesses to align on key objectives and drive sustainability performance.

  • Establishing and leading key communications and engagement across ESG topics with internal and external stakeholders.

You will have:

  • Have a proven track record of being a Sustainability and ESG Leader in a Plc environment (experience of having taken a business through IPO, either in a consultancy or leadership capacity, would be advantageous).

  • Bring a strong understanding of sustainability strategy and ESG reporting within an international corporate setting.

  • Have a deep understanding of the ESG needs of all key stakeholders, particularly investors, and have experience in communicating with them.

  • Ability to drive a roadmap against strategic goals and KPIs.

If you are looking for your next Sustainability leadership position within a global organisation, and the role and skill set required aligns with you, this would be an ideal contract. This role has an immediate start and pays a daily rate of £1000 +.
