Are you looking for your next contract? Acre is working with an international consumer tech business to find an Interim ESG Manager on an initial 12-month contract.
Our client is innovating the online consumer space with its global offerings and growing loyal consumer database. You will be working in a collaborative and high-performing team reporting to C-suite and be the 'go-to' person for ESG and Sustainability matters across the group.
The purpose of this role is to take over from the incumbent, who will be going on maternity leave. You will be working on a continued ESG strategy, delivering on a wide remit for the business, including climate impact, sustainable supply chain (including Scope 3 emissions), DE&I, net zero, and community. You will be technically strong in ESG reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as an internal subject matter expert to the senior leadership team and wider business
Lead working groups and committees focused on delivering ESG goals
Include ESG elements and criteria into relevant projects and programmes across the organisation
Lead and coordinate action on Net Zero ambitions and targets
Work with teams from across the organisation on other relevant ESG activities and programmes
Lead collaborative efforts internally and with our suppliers to advance ESG data capture, reporting and transparency
Working with supply chain to capture scope 3 GHG emissions for FY23, specifically developing the net zero transition plan
Supporting the finance team with creating the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure)
Continuously monitor ESG developments, industry standards, and regulations that may affect the Company, adapting the program as appropriate
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Corporate Communications, IR and Marketing teams, to ensure performance and initiatives are constantly communicated to all key stakeholders
Required:
University Degree educated (Bachelor's or preferably Masters's degree) in a subject related to environmental management or sustainability or Qualified by Experience.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role in a fast-paced environment or in a consultancy environment.
Good knowledge of external reporting frameworks (TCFD, CDP, SECR etc).
Up to date with emerging trends and the requirements of an eCommerce business.
Working understanding of decarbonisation and climate.
Has delivered community programmes that have a measurable impact on society.
Experience in working on sustainable sourcing programmes, including FSC certification.
Confident in facilitating and influencing cross-business or multi-stakeholder groups.
Part-Time: 2-3 Days per week, depending on candidate's capacity
Budget: Up to £70,000 pro-rate or day rate equivalent
Duration: 12-months
Type: Hybrid/Remote - Some travel will be paid if working remotely in the UK
*Remote working in the UK will be considered, but you must be prepared to travel to the Head office in London and some of the other sites when required.
