Acre is partnering with an organization specializing in animal health, welfare, environmental sustainability, and farm data standards to identify a Sustainability Consultant for an initial three-month period. This organization offers advisory services on production, insights into supply chain activities, and facilitation of data exchange, with a vision to empower efficient decision-making across the agricultural sector.
The Sustainability Consultant will support the agricultural community in achieving sustainable outcomes at scale by providing tools and insights to reduce environmental impact. They will empower users to maintain control over their data, ensuring responsible and ethical use while fostering trust among stakeholders. The ideal candidate will work directly with farmers and project managers, applying their technical knowledge to deliver actionable insights throughout the assessment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support and Consultancy:
Guide customers in understanding data related to carbon emissions
Provide consultancy on key metrics, including what and how to measure carbon emissions
Technical Assessment and Data Management:
Retrieve carbon emissions data for clients and set up assessments, nurturing relationships throughout the assessment lifecycle
Work directly with farmers to gather data not available through third-party sources
Manage and apply IPCC guidelines for carbon assessments, working across Scope 1-3 emission data, with a focus on primary data validation
Survey and Analysis:
Design and implement surveys for project managers to facilitate data collection and analysis
Conduct data analysis and validation, focusing on individual data flows and addressing any issues identified, especially within the livestock domain
Develop and apply KPIs to assess carbon emissions data
Communication and Reporting:
Provide results and technical commentary to customers, including insights into carbon assessments and comparisons with other clients
Highlight potential reduction opportunities and offer recommendations based on data analysis
Communicate findings effectively, offering advice and guidance to clients
Field Engagement and Relationship Building:
Spend time on-site with customers to engage directly with farmers, understanding their operations and providing on-site support
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of livestock and pastoral systems
Experience in sustainability/carbon data analysis, validation, and the application of IPCC guidelines
Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to a non-technical audience
Previous experience in a similar consultancy or technical support role is preferred
