Plastic Credit Exchange is the world's first global non-profit plastic offset program. Founded in the Philippines but representing all the places hit hard by end-of-life plastic waste, PCX partners with sustainability-conscious businesses around the world to responsibly offset their plastic footprint and reduce the flow of plastic pollution into our landfills and oceans.

PCX has built a broad and growing ecosystem of carefully vetted collaborators that recover, process, and recycle plastic waste while continuously seeking out innovative, environmentally sound solutions for plastic waste reduction. PCX also supports environmental protection with programs that improve livelihoods and scale up social impact.

PCX are looking for a Managing Director to lead PCX Solutions and own its P&L and strategic priorities, including the Plastic Pollution Reduction Standard (PPRS), PCX Ecolabel, Project Certifications and Consulting services. This role reports to the founder and Executive Chair of PCX.

You will oversee a growing global team. And you will work closely with the CEO and others at PCX Markets. You will also be working with partners on the front line of the plastic pollution crisis. You will be responsible for the acquisition and partnership management and the monitoring and evaluation of PCX Solutions certified projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build the team to deliver best in class pioneering work to further the mission of ensuring the responsible management of waste so that it does not wind up polluting the environment.

  • Spearhead the strategic development of the Plastic Pollution Reduction Standard

  • Forge strategic partnerships and relationships with clients, vendors, and all other professional business relationships

  • Build and develop strategic partnerships with sustainability pioneers and the circular economy. (e.g., UNEP, Ellen MacArthur Foundation)

  • Monitor the quality and delivery of research projects and outputs and own growth / P&L responsibility for PCX Solutions

  • Work with the core leadership team to create and implement strategies, build budgets, review financial results and plan for the resourcing of these

  • Build out meaningful network of aggregators and processors to deliver impact

  • Actively engage in creating, growing, and building a world-class, industry-leading organisation, fostering a growth-oriented, positive and encouraging environment

Key Requirements:

  • Significant executive level operational experience in plastics, circular economy or credit standards

  • Extensive experience in sustainability and standards relating to sustainability, particularly in certifying projects

  • Credible network with relevant NGOs, governments, industry organisations, forums and working groups

  • Understanding of eco-labelling and net-zero plastic waste

  • Proven experience in leading and building out successful and impactful teams
